Patrol Report
On Sunday
25 April 2010 at 10.00 hours, police station no "7"
received a phone call informing about an ongoing breaking into incident. Police
station number "7" promptly dispatched Flying squad "Alfa” to
the scene. "Alfa" team was composed of four police officers. The team
immediately responded to the scene. At about 10.05 hours the team arrived at Oscar street number
"19" which Max-Packs shipping company main stores were located. Up on
arrival, Mick Carl the team leader noticed two suspects fleeing from the
building, one was holding a flat TV screen. Both suspects fled in different
directions. One fled towards the train lines and the other one towards Wicks
street.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT #

Mick Carl ordered two team members to give a chase.
Both Mick and the fourth team member remained at the scene to search for
possible suspects hiding inside the building of the stores. While Mick Carl and
his colleague were entering the building they heard shuffling inside. They took
a wall cover at once. Tactically, in a buddy team formation they proceeded
screening the building. While moving forward walking the wall, Mick Carl
noticed a shadow of a person hiding behind the fridge pointing out with an item
looked like a pistol. The buddy team members raised their alertness. Mick Carl
started negotiating the suspect not to resist and it would be taken into
consideration. The suspect didn’t respond any way. Mick hardened his speech
ordering the suspect to put the gun down and to get out from behind the fridge
with his hands up.

As there was no compliance from the suspect side,
Mick gave him the last order before use of force. The suspect shouted insulting
the police officers and threatening them. The suspect started shooting randomly
out of the hiding area but not against the police officers. He shot three
sequent times one bullet per each except the last as it was two bullets. The
suspect's random shooting hit four items: Toshiba Laptop valued at one thousand dollar
and half and a pack of three apple phones which were all smashed. The total
value of the damaged items was 3000 dollar.

Seconds before the intervention, it was a surprise
when the suspect slided the gun over the floor and stepped out from behind the
fridge with his hands up. Mick ordered his buddy team member to pick up the
pistol. It was 9mm Smith & Wesson with one round at the firing chamber and
five remaining rounds in the magazine. Mick controlled the suspect and
handcuffed him. He also conducted a body search over the suspect to make sure
that there was no dangerous item remaining with him.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT #

At about 10.30 hours Mick received a radio call from
one of the two other police officers called Mathew. Officer Mathew updated Mick
that both he and his colleague were tracing one suspect in Wicks street . Mick attached the suspect
in a metal door iron bar. Both Mick and his colleague conducted a comprehensive
scanning over the building to make sure that there was no body else inside.
Minutes later, they got out of the building with the suspect handcuffed.

INTRODUCTION
This is the second section of the UNPOL
Combined Language Assessment. It is
divided into two parts. In the first part you will hear one person describing
the mission-related topic you have just read about in the Reading Comprehension – it will be introduced
as the Narrative. In the second
part, you will hear a conversation between two people who are discussing the
same mission-related topic – it will be introduced as the Dialogue.
Please be reminded that the use of
any computer devices, microphones, books, external notes or assistance from
others is not permitted. Candidates who fail to observe
appropriate conduct during this test will be excluded from the assessment
process. Such actions will be duly noted and communicated in writing to the
authorities of the Member
State concerned and to
the SAAT Coordinator in the UN Police Division.
You
will be given a Report Writing Form and another Blank Sheet of paper. Take
careful notes on the Blank Sheet of paper of both the Narrative and the
Dialogue. Pay attention to the important facts and key information. You will
hear the recording only one time.
Once
the Narrative and Dialogue are finished, you will be asked to use your notes from both the Reading and the Audio parts to write your
own complete police report.
You
will have 30 minutes to complete
your police report. The instructor will indicate when these 30 minutes begin.
The instructor will then announce when there are 5 minutes remaining and when
there is one final minute.
Please
do not forget to write your full name and your individual test serial number
clearly in the spaces provided on the Report Writing Sheet.
