PATROL REPORT
On
Wednesday12 February 2012 at about 10.15 hours Mrs. Suzan Fox 35 years old
attended to police station number "10" to submit a complaint accusing
her husband of having an illicit relationship with her sister. She told the
police that she was a wife of Mr. Erick Fox 36 years old since 14 January 2008
they lived together at "4" Adadjio street which was five kilo meters
from her parents residence at "20" Garden Park street. The lady said
that her husband Erick was banker ending his work at approximately 17.00 hours
and she was a nurse at a hospital and often had over night shifts. She stated
also that her sister Martha 30 years old was living with her parents since she
got divorced. Mrs. Suzan further stated that every now and then she and her
husband used to visit her parents at their residence. Later on she noticed
something doubtful in the relation between her husband and her sister concluded
from their sights and talks.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT # 01
On Monday 29 January 2012 at about 23.30 hours while
Mrs. Suzan was at work, she called her parents asking about her sister Martha and
the answer was that Martha was out. Minutes later Mrs. Suzan called Martha on
her cellular to ask her about her whereabouts. Martha answered her sister Suzan
that she was home. Suzan's doubts were getting amplified but she was still not quite
sure. On Monday 5 February
2012 at about 23.00 hours while Mrs. Suzan was at work she tried
again to test her doubts so she called her parents to ask if her sister Martha
was there or not. That time Martha herself answered Suzan confirming that she
was home. Suzan told her that she was just saying hi. In spite of that Mrs.
Suzan was still having unsatisfying feelings. For the third time on Tuesday 11
February 2012 at about 23.30 hours while Mrs. Suzan was in her night shift at
work she called her parents saluting and asking about her sister Martha. Suzan
was told that Martha was out that over night with some friends.

At that night Mrs. Suzan was dieing
of doubts. It was a very busy working
shift at the hospital as there was four critical cases submitted to the ICU
that night. Although Mrs. Suzan was the head of nursing at this unit, she decided to take an action. She asked her
night shift manager doctor Anthony for a leave permeation as she was confused
and tired. Her bad condition shown apparently on her face. Dr Anthony allowed
Mrs. Suzan to leave after handing over to her colleague Rebecca. She drove her
Alfa Romeo car license number L-G 5361 heading to her residence.
FOLLOW-UP REPORT # 03
At about 23.45 hours Mrs. Suzan arrived home. When she got in she noticed one
bottle of whisky and two cups on a table at the living room . One cup was
marked by lipstick. She also noticed a
red blouse on the sofa and a pair of pink female shoes on the floor. Proceeding
to the bed room. It was so shocking when she saw both her husband Erick and her sister Martha lying together all
naked in the bed.

Mrs. Suzan burst into tears crying
and cursing both husband and sister. She started throwing them with hard items
but both resorted to behind the bed. She rushed to the kitchen and brought a
knife. She tried to stab her sister Martha but Erick managed to protect her.
Attempting to stab her husband he held her arm and pushed her strongly. She
collapsed unconscious on the floor. Martha and Erick fled to unknown
destination.

Second Part
of CLA (Report Writing)
INTRODUCTION
This is the
second section of the UNPOL Combined Language Assessment. It is divided into two parts. In the first
part you will hear one person describing the mission-related topic you have
just read about in the Reading Comprehension – it will be introduced as the Narrative. In the second part, you will
hear a conversation between two people who are discussing the same
mission-related topic – it will be introduced as the Dialogue.
Please be reminded that
the
use of any computer devices, microphones, books, external notes or assistance
from others is not permitted. Candidates who fail to observe
appropriate conduct during this test will be excluded from the assessment
process. Such actions will be duly noted and communicated in writing to the
authorities of the Member State concerned and to the SAAT Coordinator in the UN
Police Division.
You
will be given a Report Writing Form and another Blank Sheet of paper. Take
careful notes on the Blank Sheet of paper of both the Narrative and the
Dialogue. Pay attention to the important facts and key information. You will
hear the recording only one time.
Once
the Narrative and Dialogue are finished, you will be asked to use your notes from both the Reading and the Audio parts
to write your own complete police report.
You
will have 30 minutes to complete
your police report. The instructor will indicate when these 30 minutes begin.
The instructor will then announce when there are 5 minutes remaining and when there
is one final minute.
Please
do not forget to write your full name and your individual test serial number
clearly in the spaces provided on the Report Writing Sheet.

NARRATIVE
Referring to the case, On Wednesday
12 February 2012 at about 08.45 hours Mr. Ralf Ken 62 years old Mrs. Suzan's
father called her to ask her about her sister Martha who didn't come back home
yet. Mr. Ralf tried to call several times but without response from Mrs. Suzan
side. The man got worried and decide to go to his daughter Suzan's house to
find out what was exactly going on. At about 09.00 hours Mr. Ralf headed to his
daughter residence at "4" Adadjio
Street . Up on arrival five minutes later he got
astonished when he found the house front door opened. Mr. Ralf interred
amazingly and there was no recipient. He proceeded to the living room where he
found on the table a bottle of whisky and two cups one marked with lipstick. He
found also a red blouse on the sofa and pair of female pink shoes on the floor.
Then he headed to the kitchen but didn't find any body there as well. Getting
into the bed room Mr. Ralf found his daughter Suzan lying faint on the floor. He
tried to help her retrieving her conscious. Minutes later Mrs. Suzan came back
to consciousness. She was in a very traumatic condition crying all the time
without telling any thing. Trying to know about what happened to her at about
09.30 hours Mr. Ralf called Erick . Erick answered regretting telling what
happened that night. Mrs. Suzan decided to make a complaint at the police
station. The father tried hard to change her mind and treat the issue
domestically to avoid scandal. The lady insisted to sue her husband and sister.
She headed to police station number "8" by her Alfa Romeo car license
number L-G 5361. Mr. Ralf followed he by a taxi. Major Scott the station police commander met
the lad y and interviewed her listening to her complaint. Afterwards he
interviewed Mr. Ralf as a witness.
DIALOGUE
Major Scott: good morning sir, may you
introduce your self?
Mr. Ralf: my names Ralf Ken 62 years
old and I'm the father of Mrs. Suzan
Major Scott: do you have any more over
what she said?
Mr. Ralf: I know it's very sensitive
and domestic but Suzan insisted to inform the police, at about 08.45 hours this
morning I called Suzan to ask her about her sister Martha as she did't get back
home since yesterday's evening.
Major Scott: what happened afterwards?
Mr. Ralf: I decided to go to her
house as she was only five kilo meters away from my residence.
Major Scott: What did you find there?
Mr. Ralf: I got amazed when I found
the front door of the house opened and no body in, I first headed to the living
room where I found a bottle of whisky on the table and two cups one of them had
lipstick marks, I found also a red blouse on the sofa and a pair of pink female
shoes on the floor.
Major Scott: then what happened?
Mr. Ralf: after that I interred the
kitchen but there was no body as well, I finally got in the bed room where I
found my daughter Suzan lying unconscious on the floor, I tried to awake her
and she restored consciousness minutes later.
Major Scott: was she the one who told you
what happened?
Mr. Ralf: no, she was in a very
traumatic condition so at about 09.30 hours I called her husband Erick to know
what happened and he told me the whole story.
Major Scott: why didn't you try to
tackle the matter domestically?
Mr. Ralf: definitely I tried to do
that but Suzan insisted to raise the issue, she headed to police station number
"8" by her Alfa Romeo car license number L-G 5361 and I followed her
by taxi.
